Let's get to know Korean traditional Gukbap

Here, I am briefly explanating of various types of Korean traditional dishes called "Gukbap" ("국밥");

 

1. Seolleongtang (설렁탕)

A milky bone broth made from ox bones and brisket, simmered for hours until rich and creamy.

It is often served with rice and garnished with green onions and salted sesame oil.

 

2. Haejangguk (해장국)

Literally meaning "hangover soup",  this hearty soup is typicall made with napa cabbage, congealed ox blood, and variety of vegetables in a spicy broth.

It's believed to be a cure for hangovers.

 

3. Samgyetang (삼계탕)

Though not a soup served with rice, this is a popular Korean soup made with chicken, garlic, Korean dates, and ginseng.

 

 

4. Seonjitguk (선짓국)

A soup made from beef offal, usually tripe, in a clear broth.

 

5. Sundae Gukbap (순대국밥)

Gukbap served with sundae, a type of blood sausage stuffed with glass noodles and vegetables.

 

6. Someri Gukbap(소머리국밥)

Gukbap made with beef head meat, often including tongue and cheeks, cooked in a hearty broth.

 

7. Gul Gukbap(굴국밥)

Gukbap featuring oysters in a savory broth, typically seasoned with soy sauce and garlic.

 

 

8. Dwaeji Gukbap(돼지국밥)

Pork-based gukbap, commonly made with pork bones or pork belly in a rich broth.

 

9. Kongnamul Gukbap(콩나물국밥)

 

Gukbap served with kongnamul (soybean sprouts), adding a crunchy texture to the dish.

 

These dishes showcase the diverse flavors and ingredients that characterize Korean gukbap cuisine.
